He told me, “I was the most miserable person in the entire world. I was foul-mouthed. I was drunk a good bit of the time. I lived immorally and nearly lost my wife and family. I was wretched.” Joe continued, telling me, “Then the Lord saved me. I heard the gospel of what the Lord Jesus did on my behalf. I believed His Word. I have a lot to learn, but I am a new person.”
King David made an interesting observation. “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD” (Psalm 40:2-3).
Joe, King David, and each of us have the opportunity to demonstrate what a wonderful change in our lives the Lord Jesus has made.
I am challenged in this today. How about you? May the attitude of gratitude be the source of a great testimony for our Savior.
