He certainly wasn’t perfect. Neither are we.
He certainly had lots of challenges. So do we.
He certainly loved the Lord. I know that I do and hope you do as well.
He certainly needed the Lord’s mercy. So do we.
I am speaking of King David. Think of what he wrote.
“I have trusted in Thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation” (Psalm 13:5).
David, in all of his imperfections, loved the Lord and depended fully upon Him. When you know the Lord and trust in His mercy, your heart will rejoice. The king’s statement would be used in a conversation between two ladies. Let’s listen in.
Janet was speaking to her friend Jen. “I know that you are convinced that you are too bad to be forgiven by the Lord, Jen. I know that you are struggling to believe that God would forgive you. You have written yourself off as one that is just too bad to become His child. But Jen, I want to assure you that no one is too bad for salvation. In fact, that’s what makes the mercy of God so wonderful!” Janet told her friend. “David rejoiced in God’s mercy, and so can you,” she continued.
Count me in as one rejoicing in God’s mercy. How about you? Are you thankful for God’s amazing mercy?
Mercy! Mercy! How I need this. Thank you, Father, for your love.
Mercy! Mercy! Precious Savior! Sent to me from Heaven above.
