“Moreover by them is Thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward” (Psalm 19:11).
King David writes a personal testimony as to His desire to keep God’s Word. He speaks about the law, testimony, statutes, commandment, fear, and judgments (19:7-9) which are different titles for God’s Word. How wisely David was living at this point in his life. He knew that obeying God’s Word would result in wise living.
I have spoken of Joe before. Joe spoke to several of his friends about the change that the Lord was making in his life. “Before I came to know the Lord, my life was ruined. I was lost in sinful living. Now the Lord is changing my life. Even though I am never going to be perfect here in this world, every day I look forward to reading God’s Word. He is blessing me beyond measure.”
One of his friends replied laughingly to Joe, “Maybe I ought to start reading the Bible. You really are different. You’re not nearly as miserable as you used to be!” It was a great conversation that day.
Now for a couple of questions for all of us. How about you? Are you reading and obeying God’s Word? Do you know the Author? Heed the warning! God knows what He is talking about!
