We have been thinking about the word “remember” from the book of Deuteronomy. We concluded yesterday a four-part look at remembering God’s grace, greatness, guidance, and glory. Think a little more about the glory of the Lord.
We are at this very special time of the year when our hearts are extra tender toward the Lord as we approach the special remembrance of the agony of our Savior in His betrayal, wicked and corrupt trials, the death and the shedding of His blood to pay for our salvation and of course three days later His glorious, and I do mean GLORIOUS, resurrection!
On the night of His betrayal and the day before His crucifixion, the Lord Jesus prayed an incredible prayer in John 17. Be gripped with the tenderness of what He spoke to His Father about us.
“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world” (John 17:24).
On that terrible night in Gethsemane the Lord Jesus told His Father that He was looking forward to the day when all of His redeemed people would be with Him and beholding His glory. Think of it. Beholding His glory!
How will this impact us today? Keep eternity and His glory ever before you, friends. Glory!
