“Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages” (Ephesians 3:21).
Throughout the world today the gospel or good news of the wonderful salvation through Christ alone is going forth. Christ is building His Church. Let’s look in as several situations are unfolding.
The pastoral staff sat around the conference table in the office complex. A tremendous opportunity loomed on the horizon, and they were in earnest prayer that the Lord Jesus would be glorified. They needed to know His will and how they and the deacons would lay this out to the church family.
A hundred miles away, a pastor sat alone in his study. There at his desk he bowed his head and cried out to the Lord concerning a situation. He asked the Lord to give him wisdom and that the Lord would be glorified in it.
A thousand miles away a search committee met in the fellowship hall. They were praying that they would discover the Lord’s will concerning who their next pastor would be. They asked the Lord to glorify Himself in this situation.
Two thousand miles away the choir director was asking the Lord about what cantata to use even though the special service was six months away. That choir director asked the Lord to glorify Himself in that service. How will this play out in your life and local church today?
For today: May the Lord be glorified in your life and mine as well (1 Corinthians 10:31).
