“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Gloria and her brothers Garth and Gordy were looking through their father’s study Bible. “Don’t you love the notes he wrote in the margins?” Gloria asked her brothers. “I feel like we are taking a Bible college course as we study Dad’s outlines and notes,” Garth shared. “Like here. Look at the notes beside 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
Dad wrote
‘The Possession 6:19;
The Purchase 6:20a and
The Pursuit 6:20b,’” Garth said quietly as he laid down his father’s Bible. “That really summed up Mom and Dad’s life, didn’t it? Dad loved the Lord and for sure, so did our mother!” Gordy concluded. What a rich heritage for this family. How about you? Does this describe your walk with the Lord?
Let me send you on your way with this: May my life reflect well the truth of which we wrote today. May yours as well. The greatest gift we can give to our children is our love for the Lord, love for family, and consistent (not perfect) walk as a believer who knows he or she belongs to the Lord. Blessed Mother’s Day to all the mom’s who love the Lord and teach their children well.
