“Thou fool…So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God” (Luke 12:20-21).

He thought it was going to be the best thing in the world that could ever have happened. His aunt and uncle were fabulously rich. His uncle died first, and then several years later his aunt died. They had had no children. Over the course of the years, Larry’s aunt  told him that when she died, her money would be left to him. And it was! Lots and lots of money was inherited by Larry after his aunt’s death. He thought it was going to be great. He could do pretty much anything he wished to do. He could go places, buy things, and would never have another worry in the world. Except Larry did not know the Lord Jesus as his Savior and that changed everything when Larry died several months after inheriting his millions. While there is nothing wrong with having money, it will do us no good when the time comes for us to die. I want to be rich for God much more than ever being rich for myself.

For today: I need to remember why I am here, Who I love and serve, and how short my time is.
