Every week I send out a two-page update to the retired missionaries of Baptist Church Planters.
It is called “Dr. Mike’s Weekly House Call.” For the next several days, I am going to take you back to something I shared with them years ago.
From September 21, 2017, here is a little paragraph from the BCP retiree update.
Thoughts for each day! We may be retired, but we are still very useful to the Lord. Isn’t it amazing that the Lord would use us even in our prime days? However, to think of how the Lord still wants to use us is truly amazing to me. I have been thinking a lot about how we are to be serving the Lord at this stage of our lives. I surely know that I am in a different season of my life, and I suspect that your life might be described the same way. While there are days of aches and pains, and in spite of our bodies growing older, God simply isn’t finished with us yet. Think of it! Each day our course completion is a little more anticipated. Each day our going to Heaven is a little bit closer. Each day the finish line is a little nearer. Each day our grand reunion with loved ones is becoming even dearer. Each day the thought of our Savior’s face is growing sweeter. Each day Home is sounding even better. Each day our new body is more inviting. Each day my strength is growing weaker which makes His strength far better.
“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Back to today! You may or may not be retired. However, in whatever stage of life you are in, if you know Christ, you can rest assured that His grace is sufficient and even in your weakness, His strength will be demonstrated.
