If you haven’t been reading “Dr. Mike’s Daily Prescriptions” for a few days, let me catch you up! For just a few days, we are doing something a little different. I’ve been sharing with my friends a brief portion from a weekly newsletter that I write for the retired missionaries of Baptist Church Planters called “Dr. Mike’s Weekly House Call.” This is a tiny portion of what I wrote to them on November 6, 2018.
Aren’t you glad for this? “To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved” (Ephesians 1:6).
His Son is the Beloved One. The Father glorifies Himself in His super-abundant, overflowing grace whereby, on the basis of Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice, we believers are now fully accepted in the Beloved One. Friends, there is absolutely no better place to be.
If I could live in a million dollar resort home by the ocean, I’d rather be accepted in the Beloved.
If I could live in a castle with a hundred rooms, I’d rather be accepted in the Beloved.
If I could live pain-free, as good as that sounds, I’d still rather be accepted in the Beloved.
If I could live anywhere in the world, drive the most expensive cars, be popular with everyone that I meet, I’d still rather be accepted in the Beloved.
Being accepted in the Beloved One, the Lord Jesus, ought to be such a cherished privilege that it should be seen in how I live, what my attitudes are, how I treat other people, and how I function in the world. Yep! The world really ought to see a change in me because I am accepted in the Beloved.
Back to today. Thanks for spending time with me today. If you know the Lord Jesus as your own Savior, rejoice with me this very moment that our Father declares we are accepted in the Beloved. There’s no better place to be.
