“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand” (Psalm 95:6-7).
“You can believe whatever you want to believe, Michael,” he said to me with a tone of arrogance in his voice. “But as for me, I believe in no God. He is not my Maker, and I will never bow down to Him. I have evolved by chance and will live my life anyway that I please,” and with that he turned and walked away. At the time of his wicked and blasphemous statement, he was the exception to the people I would typically meet. That statement occurred decades ago. Today that sentiment is far more common, and heartbreakingly, this is exactly the attitude that is plummeting our beloved country further and further away from the Lord and even good old-fashioned common sense. My Timex watch didn’t just happen by chance. Neither did we. From my perspective this beloved country needs a genuine revival.
Here’s a thought for today: The Lord being our Maker makes us not only responsible to Him, it also makes us joyful in Him!
