This will be such a great verse for each of us today. “Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is” (Jeremiah 17:7).
I will change the names but let me tell you about these dear folks.
Four friends were traveling to a conference together. Only Jim knew the Lord as His personal Savior. As they rode along and discussed situations in life, Natalie spoke about her education and was emphatic that without it she would never succeed in life. Gaylene talked about her family and with her dad’s wealth, she calculated that it was only a matter of time until she could quit working forever. John was gracious and kind, but he spoke of not relying on anyone or anything. He always was able to fix any situation and handle any matter that came up in the past, so he expected to be able to do so in the future. Jim listened to them and was asked, “How about you, Jim? How are you expecting to get along?” What an opportunity opened for him to reply, “I appreciate my education, Natalie. I don’t have a wealthy dad, Gaylene. John, to tell you the truth, I am not too good at fixing things with my hands. However, I am placing my trust and confidence in the LORD Himself. All these things are great of which you friends have spoken. But trusting in the LORD is the only safe way to live right now and eternally.”
How about you? In what or in whom are you trusting?
Here is my prayer this morning. “Oh Lord, May each of us truly trust You not only for salvation but for every situation in life.
