“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15).
Amanda finished reading her Bible, and as she invested some moments with the Lord, she prayed something like, “Lord, I want You to have the first place of importance and priority in my life today. Please help me to be ready to speak for You even if it is just a few words.” She finished praying for her family and several important prayer requests from her church family. She invested a few more moments praising the Lord for Who He is and what He is doing.
After that, she finished preparing for work and off she went. The first opportunity came when the lady in the drive-thru window said, “I hope you will have a good day.” Amanda took a few seconds to explain that her Lord was directing her day, so whatever came along, it would be a blessed day. Next came a co-worker on break in the coffee room. Later that afternoon it would be a cashier in the grocery store. Before she arrived home that day, she had had the opportunity of putting 1 Peter 3:15 into operation several times. How about you? How is this working out in your life?
Of this you can be sure: The opportunities will come as you “sanctify” the Lord in your heart.
