Selected Notes Volume 8 Number 2
“Do You Remember Singing This Chorus?”
Did you catch the post number? Faithful friends, celebrate with me as I give thanks for the privilege of bringing post number 350 to you today. Though Karen has been Home with the Lord for many years, the encouragement from her notes continues on today.
Nearly twenty years ago, Karen was invited to speak three times at a ladies’ conference in the Mohawk Valley Region of New York State. Her specific assigned topic was to encourage the ladies to pursue God’s purpose for their lives. We talked a lot and prayed much as she was faced with the daunting task of speaking on such a topic in three forty-five-minute sessions.
Needless to say, from her pages and pages of notes I’m lifting just a sentence or two today. Her second point was powerful and probing. Let me share some of the Scripture, then her second point and what she wrote.
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” (Ephesians 3:17-19).
Karen wrote: Where am I going in my Christian life? I am loved unconditionally. What a change has taken place in my life. So where am I going in my Christian life? The little chorus goes, “I love Him better every D-A-Y.” My daily walk with Him is crucial in this world.
Michael’s question: Well friends, is this chorus going around and around in your mind at this point? I love this little chorus,
I love Him better every d-a-y.
I love Him better every d-a-y.
Close by his side (s-i-d-e)
I will abide (a-b-i-d-e).
I love Him better every d-a-y.
I want this to be true in my life today. How about you?
