“In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:7-8).
King David uses an amazing word in His counsel for God’s people. He tells us to “trust.” This is the word batach (ba-TAKH) which means “to have such trust that results in confidence, that brings about security.” Please don’t misunderstand. This doesn’t mean that we suddenly become robots that are emotionless in tragedies or heartaches. On the other hand, those who walk with the Lord and intentionally choose to trust Him will indeed be glad that they did.
I have had the extreme privilege of working with people in their most wonderful moments as well as the most difficult moments in their lives. I’ve witnessed first hand the response of those who do not know the Lord as trouble comes into their existence. I’ve also witnessed first hand the response of those who are walking with the Lord and trusting Him. There is a great difference because those who know the Lord know that He is our salvation, our glory, the rock of our strength, He is our refuge in Whom we trust.
What are you facing today? If you know the Lord Jesus as your Savior, then your greatest trial is not greater than your awesome Lord. Trust in Him at all times. Sounds like very good counsel, doesn’t it?
