May I ask you a question? Thanks.
Do you read a Psalm or even a couple of Psalms regularly? By regularly I mean at least three or four times a week?
Many years ago I found that by adding a Psalm or even several Psalms to my Bible reading, a great blessing would come.
The Psalms are like the Old Testament hymnal.
In these we read of how we should view real life difficulties and great hardships.
In these we read of sincere and earnest calling out to the Lord for help and wisdom.
In these we read of the Lord being His people’s refuge and source of great strength.
In these we read of the glory, grace, and goodness of the Lord.
In these we read of the singing of praise, giving of thanks, and lifting voices in worship.
That’s why when we read the Psalms we are uplifted, encouraged, and greatly blessed. Recently I was reading Psalm 146. Let me share just two verses.
“Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD O my soul. While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being” (Psalm 146:1-2).
That’s just what I needed today.
That’s just what I want to be doing today.
That’s just what I hope you and I together will embrace today.
