“O LORD our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8:1).

Three people in three different situations thought of this wonderful truth. A pastor was kneeling in prayer at 4:30 am and thanking the Lord that He, the true and the living God, is above all situations that he would face that day.

An emergency room doctor collapsed on his bed at 5:00 am after a busy twelve-hour shift. “Thank you, Lord, for Your excellent name,” he prayed. “You have helped me in incredible ways,” and with that he was asleep in moments.

At a little after 6:30 am, a college student walked to the window to open the curtains. A brilliant sunrise was breaking in the eastern skies. It was magnificent. “Thank you, Lord. Thank You for the excellence of Your name” she prayed. From three different places, three different people who loved the Lord were overjoyed because of the Lord’s excellent name in all the earth.

For today: How will the wonderful truth of Psalm 8:1 affect you?
