Dear Partners in our Ministry,

 It is summertime! Karen and I love all the delicious fruits and vegetables that are available to us in this wonderful time of the year. It reminds me of Paul’s prayer, “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work” (Colossians 1:10).

This is just exactly how Karen and I want to be living and serving the Lord. We want to walk worthy and to be fruitful as we represent you in this ministry. You are a very real part of our ministry team. You are a partner with us in reaching the American home and family. Even though we loved the thirty-one years of being a pastor and wife, the last twelve years of devoting our time and energy to reaching homes, families, and marriages has been amazing. Frankly, the attacks on the home today are absolutely unparalleled in American history. What a great time for ministry that reaches homes and families! We are not discouraged. We are only more determined than ever to serve, to reach, to walk worthy of the Lord, and to be fruitful as we represent you.

First, let me say “thank you.” Honestly, you folks have been more than generous. While we have lost some support due to the financial situation of some churches and individuals, others have given more. Karen and I absolutely cannot thank you enough.  How blessed we are by your generosity!

Second, let me bring you up to date on some of the really exciting things the Lord is doing in our lives. I will try to be brief. I actually want to write pages and pages of what the Lord is doing. However, I will at least try to be brief.

 Reaching Out through JOY Club. You have been praying for me as I rewrote the Handbooks for grades one and two. THANK YOU! Grade two is finished, and grade one is at the graphic artist’s studio. These books are going to be a wonderful addition in reaching children but also entire families. Both books are wonderfully balanced with rich Biblical content, fun activities, things for an adult in the home to read to the child, and age- appropriate projects that will have a lasting impact on their lives. New clubs are being chartered, information packets are out, and reports of blessings are coming in.

 Reaching Out through the Website. I am sure that you are well aware that www.michaelpeck.org is up and running! I am humbled and thrilled at the same time to see this site growing as I add new articles. In the next month or so, I will be adding more articles on parenting, answering questions from my Facebook friends, producing counseling materials, and sharing additional bulletin filler-type information. Everything (except my books) is free of charge. Folks are welcome to copy anything, use it freely, and share it with others. Here are a few of the things from the website that I would like you to continue to pray about.

• The Daily Prescriptions are being read by nearly 150 people per day. Some folks go to the website daily while others have subscribed to receive the Daily Prescriptions delivered early in their email.
• The Bulletin Fillers are designed to be brief, creative, and rich in Biblical content. These are designed for church secretaries, Sunday school teachers, pastors, or folks who are looking for something to share on their Facebook accounts.
• The Two Minute Ticker is designed to be used in small groups or even church services. The five videos are just two minutes long and are available to download and use.
• Every counseling article I am writing is designed to be helpful to those who counsel or those who are looking for help.
• I am counseling at least two or three times daily through email as a direct result of the website. Sometimes it has been three or four situations per day. On the day I am writing this prayer letter, I have been in a counseling/discipleship ministry in Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and even Africa. You dear supporters have made it possible through your gifts and generosity for me to reach families literally throughout the United States and even beyond.

 Reaching Out through Facebook. I never thought I would see the day that I would be writing on Facebook. However, this has become a huge way for me to reach a large number of people. I now have over 1,000 friends. I enjoy using this tool to reach people with brief spiritual truths.

 Reaching Out through the Next Book. Will you please be praying about the next book? I am writing the third in the Journey of a Lifetime series. The first was the premarital counseling book, “From This Day Forward—Preparing Couples for the Journey of a Lifetime.” The second book was “Connecting—Developing Closeness on the Journey of a Lifetime.” With excitement and fear, I am happy to tell you that I have begun writing “Growing—Staying Best Friends When the Honeymoon is Over.” Here is a little list of things about this book that might interest you.

• Do you know what the three eras of married life are the most likely to result in divorce?
• Do you know what the five kinds of love are?
• Do you know what a spiritual home invasion looks like? Do you know how the invader operates and how to guard your marriage against it?
• Do you know what the spiritual storms are that crash upon a marriage? How much advance notice do we have of the approaching spiritual storms? How do we prepare for them? How do we survive when the storm strikes?
• Do you know what the spiritual burglars steal? What are they looking for? How can we set a spiritual alarm that will sound when a robbery is likely?
• Do you know how the spiritual termites operate that devastates a marriage? Do you know how to spot them and how to get rid of them?
• Do you know the joy of growing older and staying best friends? Do you know how to get there?

 This is what I am beginning to write now. It will come with a Leader’s Guide, Couple’s Edition and a DVD with teaching sessions before a live audience. Most writers begin their writing projects wondering if any publisher will produce their material. I have the joy of knowing that Baptist Church Planters is going to produce it, and Regular Baptist Press is going to distribute it. What a blessing to know that you are praying and that it will be published!

In addition to what I have shared with you in the opportunities above, it is a privilege to serve the missionary family of Baptist Church Planters as the Vice President. These dear missionaries are an outstanding group of servants who love the Lord and the Word of God. Thank you very much for making our ministry possible. The opportunities before us at this very moment make it possible for us to reach more families at one time than ever before. In the next several years ahead, we want to produce written, audio, and visual materials that will last for years and reach hundreds at a time.  None of this is to make me famous. All of it is to reach families with the truth and grace of our Lord. It is a joy and blessing to have you as our partners. Thank you so very much.
