“I have sworn by Myself, the word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto Me every knee shall bow and every tongue shall swear” (Isaiah 45:23). “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).
These verses from the Old and New Testament are glorious, aren’t they? They display in big, bold, and powerful terms the victory of our great God. Through the ages He has been scorned, blasphemed, and rejected by many of the people of this world. Little dictators reject the Lord and present themselves as absolute authorities. Many Hollywood celebrities laugh and mock at the idea that they are accountable to the holy God. The world’s wisest philosophers and scientists proclaim that there is no God to whom they are accountable. We Christians know, however, that our God is awesome. From our hearts we worship and sing to Him spiritual songs of praise and worship, “Great God, awesome in every attribute. Worthy, yes, worthy is Your Name. The day is coming, yes, the day is coming, when every knee will bow and Christ is Lord proclaimed!” Please do not think that this gives the unsaved a second chance after death. The redeemed will bow the knee (Revelation 4:10; 5:14) and will enter the joy of Heaven! One thousand years later the unsaved will bow the knee (Revelation 20:11-15) and be sent to the Lake of Fire forever. One way or the other, your knee will bow! If you know Christ as your Savior, you will bow in joyful wonder as the Redeemed are welcomed home! If you do not know Christ, your knee will bow in judgment before you depart from His presence forever. Better to bow in joyful wonder than terrible judgment.
For today: I want to love and serve the Lord. He is worthy!
