“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand” (John 10:28).
Seven Bible college freshmen were hanging out in Mike’s room in the men’s dorm discussing the doctrine of eternal security. Larry continued the discussion by stating, “I have a dear friend back home. He’s a dear believer who has just recently come to faith in Christ. It breaks my heart because he actually believes that he can lose his salvation.” Mike broke in and said, “I surely wish your friend could understand the wonderful doctrine of salvation. Just as he could not get himself saved from the awful punishment of sin, so he cannot keep himself saved. Your buddy needs to understand that he still is clinging to some of the notion of good works adding to his salvation.” An hour or so later Ken suggested that they stop discussing and have a praise meeting, thanking the Lord for the wonderful joy of being in His Hand and no one being able to pluck them out of that wonderful hand. Forty years later these men still think back to those prayer meetings and doctrinal discussions. How about you? Do you know Christ as your Savior? If so, aren’t you glad that you are in His hand?
For today: There is no better place to be than in the hand of our great God!
