“How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery…that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel” (Ephesians 3:3,6).
Zachary and Scott were seated next to each other on the westbound train heading to Chicago. They would have several hours of riding through the countryside as well as stopping in several cities along the route. It didn’t take long in their conversation before it was discovered that both men knew the Lord Jesus as Savior. Zachary was Jewish, and Scott was a Gentile. The men rejoiced in what they shared in common, now that the “mystery” is revealed in that believing Jews and Gentiles would be joined into one body which is Christ. The men chuckled as Zachary said, “My ancestors would never believe the day that not only would I be sitting beside a Gentile, but I would be calling him my brother!” Isn’t it wonderful to be part of that one body?
For today: Whether Jewish or Gentile, aren’t you glad that you know Christ? Don’t you wish everyone did?
