Dear Friends,
I know this letter is packed full. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read it.
Karen and I want to thank each one of you dear friends that are praying for us. We sense your prayers and want you to know how very much we appreciate this! Never could we continue in the ministry into which God has called us without the prayers of God’s dear people surrounding us and upholding us before the Lord.
Most of what I do I cannot share with you. It is extremely confidential. Since I last wrote to you, I have been involved in very confidential matters within our mission family as well as with pastors and local churches in four different states and families around the world. I love serving with our new President, Stephen Little, as well as with our Regional Field Directors. What a great team! I am so glad to be part of this ministry.
Now let me share some of the things I can share with you.
- Have you checked out www.michaelpeck.org lately? Over 9,800 different people have visited the site. The articles are beginning to fill up the website. Here are the top five places visited most:
1. So You Think You Want to Date My Daughter?
2. Bulletin materials, illustrations for messages and teaching, humorous thoughts
3. Good Questions for Engaged Couples
4. The Top Ten Things I Want to Tell My Pastor
5. So You Think You Want to Date My Son?
- Two eBooks are now available. These are children’s books I have written for Christmas. They’re great to use in your church ministry as well as in your home with your children or grandchildren.
- The rough draft of the book “Growing—Staying Best Friends When the Honeymoon’s Over” is nearly finished. The storyline is a young couple who is building a new home as well as building a new marriage. Similarities are drawn between the two. I will crunch down the table of contents so you can see the various chapters.
A Word from the Author “An Encouragement as You Begin”
Chapter 1- Building Houses and Marriages A Life-Changing Talk with Grandpa
Chapter 2- Dreaming and Designing When Expectations and Reality Meet
Chapter 3- Following the Blueprint Wow! Talk About a Beautiful Plan
Chapter 4- Building upon a Great Foundation Anything Else is Absolutely Foolish
Chapter 5- Decorating and Furnishing Making Your Home Unique and Special
Chapter 6- Watching for Anything Harmful Big Storms and Little Bugs Will Come
Chapter 7- Overcoming Procrastination Fix the Little Things Before They Become Big
Chapter 8- Enjoying the Seasons Keep Looking Forward to Eternity
- The “Let’s Talk” video series is now recorded and is in the process of being produced. These twenty-minute videos are good counseling tools that come complete with a worksheet. A few of the topics dealt with on this video series are how to deal with anger, how to raise a special needs child, how to overcome discouragement, and how to deal with disappointment.
Those are a few of the projects that I am working on right now. Please also be praying for my preaching schedule. I am delighted that the Lord allows me the privilege of preaching!
PRESS FUND UPDATE. Reminder of What the PRESS Fund Means. It would be easy to forget. Here is what the PRESS fund is:
- PR stands for Professional Reimbursement. This covers the expenses of the ministry that can be reimbursed. The goal for the Professional Reimbursement is $1500.
- E stands for Equipment. This would be the actual equipment to do our ministry as well as the cost of the website ministry. I am actually starting to save for the next laptop. I’m hoping this one will last another year or two. The website ministry will be professionally advertised this year. This is costly but necessary. Advertising expenses are a major part of the Equipment. I also support techPartner for the way that Chris Brown provides the technical help for my website, and I pay him every time we record. The goal for the Equipment is $3000.
- SS Stands for Supplemental Support. We are not in any way complaining, but we do want to explain to you that several of our significant supporters have dropped us due to their financial situations. Karen has retired from being the JOY Club director, so her salary of course is discontinued. We are not worried but realize that we will need to raise more funds for support. The goal for the Supplemental Support is $3000.
- So far a total of $2835 has come in. We are so grateful. Thank you so very much for your prayers and partnership. You’ve made it through this over-stuffed letter! Blessings on you and much love from us!
If you would like to help with our ministry, please fill out the little form at the bottom of our letter and make your check payable to: Baptist Church Planters. Enclose this form and your check and mail to: Baptist Church Planters at 36830 Royalton Road, Grafton OH 44044. I will update you next month in a Christmas letter.
