Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Ephesians 5:10-11).
“I know that the Simmons were upset with us for not going out and partying with them last night,” Peggy said to her husband, “but I am happy not to wake up with a headache this morning,” she continued speaking to her husband. Tom looked up from his breakfast and thoughtfully said, “Just think of it. Only a year ago and New Year’s Eve was one of the biggest parties of the year for us. I am so glad that the Lord has saved us this year and changed the direction of our lives. We thought we were happy! I can’t believe the changes that the Lord has brought into our lives. I’m glad we trusted Christ.” How about you? Last night the world’s people thought they were having fun as they drank and partied. Aren’t you glad that the Lord has changed your life?
For today: As we begin this new year, let’s ask the Lord to help us to keep “acceptable to the Lord” as our guide!
