“And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform” (Romans 4:21).
When you trust the Lord Jesus as your Savior and read His Word, you find a constant steady thread of God fulfilling His Word. In the life of Abraham God made the promise of a son. Though year after year came and went without God’s promised child, the Apostle Paul points out the strong undergirding of Abraham’s strength. He was fully persuaded that what God had promised to do He was able to perform. What a vivid picture played out that afternoon as my little boy jumped from the steps and into my arms. I didn’t know that this little fellow, not too long after heart surgery, was going to jump off the steps. He fully expected that his daddy would catch him. He called my name, and in the split second I had to look up, he jumped. Catching him and obviously being frightened, I cried out, “Jeffrey, what are you doing?” To which he replied, “You catch me, Dad. No problem. You scared, Daddy?” I could have easily missed or dropped him. Not so with the Lord. I am absolutely persuaded that He is able to perform what He has promised.
For today: I am glad that He is able! How will this play out in your life today?
