Hi, I am Michael Peck, and I hope “The Gathering Place—Where Family Matters” will be a help and an encouragement to you.  My wife, Karen, and I would like to introduce ourselves to you. Karen and I met in the third grade and grew up together in western New York. It was not until our senior year in high school that we started dating. From our first date, we never dated anyone else.  We were married in 1971 during the Christmas break in Bible college. Both Karen and I asked the Lord Jesus to be our Savior at a young age and as teenagers, we dedicated our lives to serving the Lord.

It was a supreme privilege to serve for thirty-one years as a pastor and wife in several precious churches in the state of New York. We loved it! Then Lord wonderfully worked in our lives to bring us to our present ministry where since 2001, we have been serving with Baptist Church Planters. Karen served as the Director of JOY CLub children’s ministries for nine years. Michael served as the Vice President from 2001 until 2014 when he resigned to devote more time to writing and making available resources for the home and family. Today he serves as the Author/Family Counselor of Baptist Church Planters.

Families and homes are the focus of our ministries. The Lord blessed us with the birth of two sons. Jeremy is the associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Wellington, Ohio. Our second son, Jeffrey, went home to be with the Lord when he was four. Every day we miss him!

Our home and family has been blessed by the Lord bringing eight children to us that we adopted. We also served many years as short term foster parents to many children. How good the Lord is to us and our family! We have encountered so many things with our children on our journey of a lifetime. It is our privilege to share principles with parents, married couples and pastors on this website.

Certainly we are not experts. We do not have the perfect marriage, nor are we the perfect parents!  However, we want to do everything possible to help our dear church planters, pastors and the American family with resources that will strengthen their personal homes and walk with the Lord.
