Saturday August 25th, 2015 Update
“It’s Saturday but Monday is Coming!
We have a major prayer request to share about Monday’s appointment.
You of course are looking forward to the weekend. You have tons of plans and lots to do today. We know that you are going to be busy today because, well it is Saturday and you are busy every Saturday! We also know that you will be busy in your local church as well as worshipping on the Lord’s Day. We also realize that you have many family members and friends that are on your prayer lists. That’s what makes it so special to Karen and me that you would pray for us in our journey with cancer.
We do have a big prayer request to share with you. Monday is coming. When Karen had her port implanted this past week, the vascular surgeon told me that on Monday when he would see her in his office that at this point he plans on removing the pleurX catheter. We are asking our friends to pray with us as to the Lord’s leading.
Neither of us have a medical background. We know that many of our friends who read Karen’s updates are medical folks and perhaps this will make perfect sense to you. We have a few questions for the surgeon before he removes it. Please be praying that we will know if this is the right time to remove it. While her fluid levels have greatly decreased she still drains around 20 or 30ml. We don’t want to necessitate the installation of another pleurX catheter. So we ask that you would pray that our doctor would have lots of wisdom. This is really important to us and we do thank you for praying.
