A Little Announcement and a Big Praise
Wednesday April 29th Update.
There is no report of the scan yet. I wanted to tell you this right up front. Hundreds and hundreds are waiting with us to learn of what the scan is reporting. We have received such encouraging notes. Here are just a couple of the actual words used concerning your desire regarding Karen’s mass. One said “I am praying that the Lord will blast that miserable mass.” Another said “I want that mass to be smashed.” Still another said to me “Karen is such a sweetheart. I am praying that the Lord will remove it and never let it back.” Those and many other sentiments have described your desires. Thanks so much.
THE LITTLE ANNOUNCEMENT
Another tool is now ready for use on my website. It focuses just a little on some of the protector’s thoughts. I have entitled it “When the Protector Cannot Protect His Beloved.” I know it is a long title. I know it sounds a little dramatic. But let me tell you that I have worked with dozens of husbands who suddenly became caregivers after one diagnosis. Every husband that has become caregiver that I have worked with has the same emotions I have right now. We seem to share the same emotions because we cannot fix the situations attacking our wives. You can find this very brief E-Book on any page of my website. It is designed for husbands to understand themselves and for wives to understand their husbands. It is a little tool for pastors and counselors to use as well.
A BIG PRAISE
Here is my big praise to the Lord. Several concerned folks today asked Karen, “So how are you?” She didn’t have to think for even a moment. She answered, “I am great. It is a good day. She ran an errand with me (waiting in the car). She dusted a little. She made supper (I grilled but she did everything else!) Now she is all tuckered out. But it has been a great day.
Thank you for praying with us as we await the news of the scan. I honestly do not know when we will find this out. When the results come in, we will let our family know the results first and then we will let you dear friends know. King David taught several extraordinary principles in Psalm 27:14. Everyone has to wait at one time or another. We Christians can have good courage from Him. It doesn’t mean that we won’t be afraid. It does mean that in the frightening times of our lives that we will intentionally trust Him. Our strength does not come from within ourselves. It comes from the Lord. So we are encouraged to continue waiting on Him. We must not be idle. Waiting is not idleness. It is obeying with the expectation that He is at work and I will trust Him.
