“Wait Until You Hear What Karen Said!”
Monday Update May 18th, 2015
Karen had her appointment with the thoracic vascular surgeon this morning. She had the last of her stitches removed. He listened very carefully to her lungs. What a wonderful blessing to hear him say, “Everything is looking good. I won’t have to see you before July!” We just finished our couple’s devotional time. Before I prayed we had another wonderful talk about this journey we are on. How faithful our great God is to us.
In February when this mass was discovered, we didn’t know how fast moving it was. We honestly didn’t know much about this except that we were in trouble. Karen thought that she was going Home soon and frankly, I had about the same feeling. But here we are today. We are not living in denial and pretending that she doesn’t have cancer. But we are rejoicing in how well she is doing. A few moments ago Karen told me that she feels the best today that she has felt since February.
To me, her husband, that is wonderful news. She felt well enough that on the way home from the doctor’s appointment she went into the grocery store with me. We had just a few things to pick up. It was great seeing her able to briefly walk through the store. How good the Lord is to us today. We are mindful of how many other people are also walking through a similar situation. Our prayers go out for them. We appreciate your continued prayer.
Oh and by the way, we walked down aisle 9. Must be the monster of aisle 9 is off on Mondays. The sweet rolls didn’t even quake. Nor did the cinnamon rolls. Even sweet roll monsters need a day off once in a while.
