“That at the name of Jesus every knee shall should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
There is a cemetery marker in Marilla, New York, that has the words “Jesus is Lord” inscribed on it. This little marker is in a very busy place in the cemetery. Just a short distance from this stone is one of the places that folks come to draw water for their planters. Everyone who passes by sees the testimony on this stone that the day is coming when every person from every generation will confess the fact that, indeed, our precious Savior is Lord. How do I know so much about this marker and cemetery? It is here that twenty-seven years ago our little son’s body was buried. Jeffrey is with the Lord and doing so very well. We miss him every day but truly believe in our hearts, “Jesus is Lord!”
For today: Those of us who know the Lord in our hearts today bow by faith. The day is coming, however, when we will bow face-to-face!
