“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).
What an incredible discovery lies ahead for Steve, Patrick, and Michael. These three teenagers personally asked the Lord Jesus to be their Savior following a youth group retreat. They and several others were just beginning their walk with the Lord. The speaker at the youth retreat invested some extra time with the young men, encouraging them not to be conformed to the world. It was hard for them to understand the concept of being conformed or being transformed. Wisely the speaker cleared up their questions as he pressed a quarter into some soft clay. Carefully pulling it out, the perfect impression of the quarter was left. “This is what it means to be conformed,” he said. “The clay conformed to the marks of the quarter. It is important to remember that the world is everything that is opposed to the Lord and His Word. It’s not just that we are not to act like, dress like, look like, and talk like the world. We are to be transformed, or changed, to become more like Christ,” the speaker concluded. These three teenagers never forgot that day. What a blessing it has been to them. How about you? Have you learned the blessings of these verses?
