“Show me Thy ways, O LORD: teach me Thy paths. Lead me in Thy truth, and teach me: for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day” (Psalm 25:4-5).

Dr. Carlson and his wife Karen sat in the service where Pastor Kenward was preaching.  For a little over forty-four years Dr. Carlson had been extremely busy in his counseling practice.  Over the last five or six years, “Doc,” as he was frequently called, suffered increasing pain from his arthritis which made it more and more difficult to counsel effectively. He knew the time was coming to retire from his practice. When Pastor Kenward came to Psalm 25:4-5 it just seemed like the Holy Spirit worked in Dr. Carlson’s heart.  Tomorrow I’ll share with you the note he wrote to his wife during church. For today, what decisions are you making?  Ask the Lord to show you His way and to lead you in His truth as He teaches you about the paths He has in store for you.

For today: You simply cannot improve on the will of God for your life.
