“Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness” (Psalm 45:7).
Many of us love the majestic language of the King James Version of the Bible. Staying true to the text, the Psalmist simply declared that God loves righteousness and He hates wickedness. What a pathetic image some folks have today of our great God. Some view Him as a disconnected, disinterested, ancient grandfatherly being Who simply winks at sin and shakes His head. Nothing could be further from the truth. As our society plunges deeper into the depths of moral decay, make no mistake about it, God still hates sin but loves righteousness. Don’t let anyone fool you by saying, “Get with it. It’s 2015! Those things in the Bible are out-of-date. We know better today!” Don’t listen to any such nonsense. God’s Word is right-up-to date and can be trusted. He still loves righteousness and hates sin.
For today: I am so glad that I belong to this awesome Lord. Do you know Christ as your Savior? Remember what He says about righteousness and sin.
