“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, because I am not of the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?” (1 Corinthians 12:13-16).
Trent was older in life when he was first introduced to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. What a wonderful change the Lord Jesus made almost immediately in his life. He now enjoyed reading his Bible and found it a delight to invest time in prayer with the Lord. He looked forward to going to church and worshipping with the rest of his church family. As a mechanic he worked long hours. Beyond any shadow of a doubt, Trent was convinced that he was not able to teach a Sunday school class. He had a hard time speaking in public. It was difficult for him to write. But he knew he wanted to serve the Lord. Sitting in the office of his pastor, Trent said, “Pastor, I am so thankful that the Lord has gifted you and others to stand and teach us. I can’t do that. But I was thinking that I must have some place in the body of Christ to serve and to be used. I’d like to start working on the cars of our single moms and widows. Do you think that I could be used in this way?” he asked. As his pastor assured him, a wonderful ministry opened to him because he discovered his place in the body of Christ. What a help and blessing Trent was to many in his new ministry. In what area has God gifted you to serve? Have you discovered it?
For today: May you find great joy and delight serving in the area that is suitable for you.
