“In Whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him” (Ephesians 3:12).
Some of my college classmates remember with fondness the Bible classes with Dr. Marmion L. Lowe. He would refer to the Book of Ephesians as “The Spiritual Alps of the New Testament.” Over the years I have loved to study from the wonderful Book of Ephesians. I often think of Dr. Lowe and his assessment of this dynamic letter to the church at Ephesus. Then on one of the flights home from Israel, we flew over the Alps. Our captain radioed back to us and encouraged us to open the shades and see the beauty and majesty of the Alps. I immediately thought of Dr. Lowe. Our verse for today is one of the reasons for his assessment. Imagine the breathtaking blessing of the word “access.” We can come before our Father, the Lord of all glory, with confidence and even boldness! This is not irreverence; rather, it is the awesomeness of our privileges in Christ. How will this affect your life today?
For today: I am thrilled that through Christ I may approach my Heavenly Father anytime. How about you?
