“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusted in Thee” (Isaiah 26:3).
So many of you dear friends continue to pray for my Karen and our journey with cancer. I want to thank you so very much for your concern and your love for us. We read today of being kept ‘in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on God.’ The idea of being ‘stayed on God’ has to do with being anchored or focused on Him. It does not mean that we no longer care. It does not mean that we no longer have emotions. It does mean that there is a quiet confidence that comes because we remember that our sovereign God is in full control and that nothing is too hard for Him. What a wonderful blessing to know that nothing takes Him by surprise. God never wrings His hands and responds with alarm and anxiousness. Do you know this Lord God personally? I can tell you from experience that in the midst of heartbreaking, heart-wrenching experiences, the Lord brings quietness and peace to the child whose mind is anchored on Him.
For today: The peace of God can best be appreciated when the tests of life are the greatest.
