“Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be Thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise” (Nehemiah 9:5).
In our verse for today we see the conclusion of the Feast of Tabernacles and the people in the time of Nehemiah beginning to really sense the magnitude of the seriousness of their sins. They also began to sense the awesomeness and gloriousness of their great God. We are actually breaking into the middle of a tremendous worship service that has lasted over three hours. To be honest, I’ve been in the ministry nearly 45 years, and I have never seen anything like this in my life. What a grand day that must have been as the people sought to bless the Lord and be pleasing to Him. They worshipped Him, sensing His glorious name and the power associated with it. You and I can have a similar sense of the awesomeness of our great God today. I don’t know about you, but I want to especially praise and bless the name of the Lord my God today.
For today: You can think too little of sin but never too big of God!
