“He held fast to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses. The Lord was with him; he prospered where ever he went” (2 Kings 18:6-7NKJV).
We read yesterday of King Hezekiah who had an excellent testimony of doing great things for God. His testimony is further recorded in our verses for today. King Hezekiah did not allow fame or fortune to turn his heart away from trusting and serving God. As a result, God richly blessed his life. The blessing of God was very evident upon King Hezekiah. In a similar way, the Lord wants us to trust Him and not to depart from following Him. Keeping the commandments of the Lord through reading our Bibles and putting into practice what God says to us may not be easy, but it is the sure way of telling whether or not we are following the Lord. It just simply is not possible to be really following the Lord without consistently investing time to read His Word. I need God’s Word, the Bible, today. How about you?
For today: I want to be a follower of the Lord Jesus. I’m glad that you want to be as well.
