“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will” (Ephesians 1:5).
Randy was moved from foster home to foster home. The hurt and anguish he felt in his heart and soul was overwhelming. As a young child he had faced rejection from parents who had chosen a sinful lifestyle that led to addiction. Though they may have cared for him, it didn’t show. For his own safety he was removed from his home and placed in foster care. Then the day came when his caseworker told him he would be visiting a couple by the name of Mr. and Mrs. Williamson. Depending on how his series of visitations would go, the Williamsons might be interested in adopting him. By the end of the first visit, Charlie and Marcia were convinced that Randy was the boy for them. I will share more about Randy tomorrow. However, for today think about the glorious truth that the Apostle Paul shared with the Ephesian believers. Every believer is adopted by the Lord God into His family. Not only do we enter by the new birth (John 3:1-7), we are gloriously adopted! If you know the Lord Jesus as your Savior, think about your glorious position throughout your day.
For today: Adopted! What a wonderful blessing we have experienced!
