“So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God” (2 Chronicles 27:6).
I’ve been reading through the book of 2 Chronicles in my morning Bible reading. Sometimes people skip over some of these Old Testament books because they think that they are a long list of ancient kings and are irrelevant to today. While I am very happy to be living in the New Testament era of the church, I know there are wonderful principles for us to glean if we will take the time to read these passages of long ago in God’s Word. King Jotham became mighty because he “prepared” his ways before the Lord his God. The word “prepared” literally means that he established his ways or directed his ways before the Lord. He put the Lord first in his life. Likewise today, the way of blessing comes as we walk with the Lord and obey His Word. Think of King Jotham throughout your day today and see how this plays out in your life.
For today: I want to walk with the Lord and obey His Word. How about you?
