“My spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior” (Luke 1:47).
Some people have gone to the extreme of ignoring Mary and not considering the great steps of faith that young teenager was willing to take. On the other hand, some people have gone to the extreme of elevating Mary to the point of being super human and sinless. Here in this verse we pick up part of the song that Mary sang at her relative Elizabeth’s home. She sang of her need of a Savior, one Who would save her from sin. In reality, the little baby that she would deliver would one day deliver her from the penalty of her sin. Do you know Christ as your Savior? Have you asked Him into your life? He is the reason for the season.
For today: Are you rejoicing in God your Savior? Let your joy be evident to the folks around you today.
