“Things Have Changed and We Need Your Prayers”
Urgent Update for February 23, 2016
I know that you are busy. So I promise that I will try to be brief.
In my last update which was written several days ago I asked you dear friends to be praying that Karen would not catch a cold. For most folks a cold is a rather common inconvenience. For Karen however, because of her diseased lung, a common cold is no longer common. It could have serious complications.
Well friends, Karen has caught quite a cough and cold. Before you panic, let me assure you that her lungs have been listened to by several medical professionals and we are assured that at this point that her lungs sound good and are still clear. For this we are very thankful. Now, I am asking our dear friends who so faithfully travel along this road with us, to please keep her in your prayers. Specifically please ask the Lord to keep her from complications due to this cold. It seems pretty widespread here in this area that this virus can escalate into fevers, coughs, and even pneumonia.
So friends, at this point Karen is scheduled for lab work on Thursday and then chemotherapy on Friday. The three weeks flew by so quickly. We so appreciate your prayers. What a wonderful reminder I want to share with you as I close this update. The writer of Hebrews tells us “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). We need the Lord’s help. We are thankful for His grace. We rest in mercy. We are amazed at His invitation to come boldly. What an awesome God to Whom we belong.
