“Praying always…and for me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel” (Ephesians 6:18-19).
Can you imagine that the Apostle Paul actually requested folks to pray that God would give to him boldness in his testimony for Christ! What an encouragement that is to each of us. There are times that we have the opportunity to share a word of testimony and perhaps we too have felt the need for the Lord to give us boldness. Probably every one of us can relate to Paul’s prayer request. Mark and Carrina finished their lunch at a well-known restaurant. Their server was efficient but not really friendly. At the conclusion of the meal, Mark extended his card that he used for witnessing and explained what Christ did for them. He shared how that Christ could change her life as well. The server immediately broke down and wept. “How I have needed this right now. You cannot believe how much I’ve needed this.” Later Mark confessed that he had nearly chickened out of witnessing because he was positive that the server wouldn’t want to hear. What a valuable lesson for each of us.
For today: May the Lord give to each of us His graciousness and boldness in our witness.
