“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand” (Psalm 95:6-7a).
Mrs. Henderson spoke to her class about the field trip they would be taking the next day. Every year the class traveled to the “Westbrook Acres” farm where Mr. Johnson would speak to her class about what it is like to be a shepherd. It was always a blessing to hear about his experiences with the sheep. He would bring one or two of the gentler and more docile sheep into the pen so that the children would have a vivid object lesson that compares the real live sheep to those who are the Lord’s sheep. He would always close his little teaching time by challenging the fifth grade class that there is no greater blessing than to belong to the Lord and to be one of His sheep. How about you? Do you know the Lord Jesus? Are you glad to be one of His sheep?
For today: Because I am glad to be His sheep, I will be worshipping and bowing down. How about you?
