“And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua…And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which He had done for Israel” (Judges 2:7, 10).
What a powerful statement. Think of it! Every generation faces the awesome question concerning their personal relationship with Christ. It is not enough that their grandparents loved the Lord. It is not enough even that their parents loved the Lord. The question every person of every generation must answer is, “What shall I do in regard to the gospel claims? Shall I believe and receive Christ as my Savior?” This generation of the children of Israel had parents who believed and saw the mighty works of God. But that was not sufficient. They had to make a personal decision, and sadly, many chose not to believe and follow. How about you? Do you know Christ as your own personal Savior? It is not enough that your parents believe. So must you! It is not enough that your parents are walking with the Lord. So must you!
For today: I want to follow Christ. I hope you will desire this as well.
