“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ” (Ephesians 4:15).
Have you been caught yet today? Most of us will experience someone trying to play a trick of some kind on us. Morty had a great sense of humor. On April 1st every year he brought plastic spiders, mice, and bugs of every variety. Most of the folks in his department didn’t believe half of the emails he would send on this day. Everyone loved Morty. At the end of the work day he always made the same little speech to everyone in his work area. He would begin by getting the attention of all his co-workers just before quitting time. “Well friends, it has been another wonderful day in the adventures of working on April 1st. But let me remind you all,” he would continue, “that this has all been in fun. Just remember, in real life Paul said, ‘Speak the truth in love,’ so the truth is I love you all.” It became almost a ritual in his department. When Morty retired, it just wasn’t the same without him.
For today: How will speaking the truth in love impact your life today?
