“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels” (Proverbs 1:5).

Wise people listen to the Lord and obey His Word. It sounds so simple and reasonable to those of us who love the Lord. Our God is awesome in all His ways. He is right and just. Wise people take heed. Recently I watched a video from the dash camera on board school buses. Because I am a former bus driver, it immediately caught my attention. This dash cam video revealed people disregarding the red flashing lights of the school bus as passengers were either boarding or departing! Some people passed on the right! Others simply drove by without even slowing down! One of the worst videos took place right here in Cleveland where the dash cam of the bus and young passengers with their smart phones recorded an SUV being driven up on the sidewalk and down the tree lawn to pass a stopped bus! I can’t imagine being so foolish. Likewise, God’s Word has red flashing lights to warn, counsel, and protect us. We will be wise to take heed.
