“This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke. And He said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet and I will speak unto thee. And the Spirit entered into me when He spoke unto me and set me upon my feet, that I heard Him that spoke unto me” (Ezekiel 1:28- 2:2).
Ezekiel is very forthright about the glory and overwhelming majesty of the Lord, which brings us to the sisters and their conversation. Katie and her older sister Tamara were talking about Heaven. “I really enjoyed class this morning. It was such a great lesson on Heaven. How did you like what Katrina said about what she’s going to do when she gets to Heaven?” Katie asked. “You mean when she said that she was going to march right up to the Lord and demand to know why He had allowed her grandmother to die?” Tamara replied. “I don’t mean to sound dramatic—well, you know that sometimes I am very dramatic–but this time I don’t mean to sound dramatic. I just hated to hear what she said. Mrs. Orslow was terrific when she read from Ezekiel about falling before the glory of the Lord!” Katie said with conviction. “She was so good with Katrina. She was absolutely right. I too believe what the Bible says about falling before the Lord’s glory,” Tamara concluded. How about you? Are you beginning to realize how awesome is our great God?
For today: When I meet the Lord, I am sure that I won’t demand anything. I’ll be too overwhelmed with His awesome glory and His amazing grace that brought me Home.
