“Make me to go in the path of Thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness” (Psalm 119:35-36).
Obeying the Lord does not come naturally nor does it come automatically! This was a great lesson Alicia was about to learn. “I trusted the Lord as my Savior two months ago. I thought I would be living like a perfect Christian by now,” she told her elderly neighbor who loved the Lord. “Perfect? Did I hear you say ‘perfect,’ Alicia? You are not going to be perfect until you get Home to Heaven. In fact, you might be surprised at how easy it is to sin and how obedience comes by intentional choosing,” her neighbor told her. “Obedience comes by asking God to cause us to go in His direction and turning our hearts to Him,” Alicia’s neighbor concluded. That was good advice for Alicia and good advice for us as well.
For today: In what direction are you heading? It’s either God’s way or it is the wrong way!
