“Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are you better than the fowls?” (Luke 12:24).
The preacher who had quite a sense of imagination entitled his sermon “Enrolling at Feathers University as Taught by Professor Raven.” Basing his message on the text we read today, he reminded the church family of the word that the Lord Jesus selected in His sermon to the people. He said “consider” the ravens. The idea behind this word is to “fix one’s eyes or mind upon, to apprehend important lessons about a thing.” Here the Lord Jesus uses a simple bird. But the lessons are tremendous. Did you ever see a bird wringing its wings worrying (say that three times fast!) about where its next meal will be found? Of course not! The wise Creator God Who takes care of the birds understands your situation and loves you dearly. Be sure in every situation of your life that you are running to Him and not away from Him. What grand lessons await us at “Feathers University.”
For today: Learning from the Lord Jesus is a life-long grand lesson in discipleship. It’s going to be a great day to do this today.
