“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them” (2 Timothy 3:13-14).
Paul warns Timothy that the days are not going to get easier for him. In fact, Paul warns his beloved son in the faith that times would worsen. Evil men would look like they are winning. Their deceptive ways and lies would sound more and more convincing. So what should Timothy do? The answer is that he should do the very same things we should do! He should continue in the things he has learned! He must never give up. He must never give in. He must continue. So must we! For those who know Christ, we have the certainty of sins forgiven, new life in Him, and the security of belonging to the One Who holds the future and us in His hands. Continue on in the things you have learned!
For today: May God keep us from discouragement. Rather, may we be encouraged to continue following Him!
