Update on My Karen May 25th, 2016
“By the Way, Did I Mention that I have a New Favorite Word?”
We are so very blessed in so many ways. The Lord continues to be so faithful and kind to us. He is helping us to grow spiritually and trust Him more and more. He is teaching us lessons in the school of waiting and depending. He is bringing encouragements from His Word and the amazing network of believers that surround us.
Recently in one of my “Dr. Mike’s Daily Prescriptions” I wrote about the birds. Never do we see a bird winging its wings because of worry and fretting. If the Lord can take care of birds we know that He can well take care of us. This isn’t just a cute little illustration to be taught in a child’s Sunday school class. It is a lifelong lesson for believers of every age.
We do have big news to share with you. The day has come for Karen to go the hospital to have the gold markers implanted around her mass. This will help the radiation oncologist to see clearly where to direct the radiation for the Cyber Knife surgery that will come a little later. Tomorrow we are to be at the hospital at 11:30 and the procedure to implant these gold particles in her lung is due to begin at 12:30.
When I asked the radiation oncologist what his goal would be for Karen, he looked at us and with kindness and quietness he said, “It is not to decrease the mass. It is to obliterate it.” So my friends I want you to know that my new favorite word is “OBLITERATE.” I’m finding all sorts of ways to use it in my sentences.
Thank you so much for praying with us about this. Our lives are in His hands Nahum 1:7 reminds us that “The LORD is good. He’s a stronghold in the day of trouble and He knows them that trust in Him.” How powerful is that!
